These are some of the things we know and can measure. We know women and children experience abuse in such great numbers, it can be hard to face. We also know that behind each of these statistics, there are a thousand stories, faces, lives; victims and survivors doing their best to stay afloat in an impossible situation.
But what of the impact that we can’t easily measure? On average, two women are killed by men each week - but how many women see ending their life as the only escape from ongoing abuse? What is the human cost to communities of accepting and tacitly condoning abuse? The effect on growing children? The lost potential of lives stunted and cut short?
This is why we exist. Our mission is to end violence against women and girls, and to believe, support and uplift survivors. What will you do to help us achieve it?
